Job Overview:
As a Leader on our frontend engineering team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping an exceptional customer and user experience. You'll architect and oversee the development of our systems and platforms, including setting the foundation for our development practices and processes. This greenfield environment offers a rare chance to exercise broad ownership and define requirements and goals across product delivery, tools, frameworks, and processes.
With your extensive experience in technical and people leadership, you are equally comfortable with hands-on coding and managing a team. You are passionate about delivering high-quality code and an outstanding customer experience within tight deadlines while establishing the basis for ongoing product evolution.
Above all, you have a bias for action. You thrive on getting products to market quickly, learning from fast feedback loops, and taking satisfaction in knowing that your work directly enhances data security for millions of people worldwide.

Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and grow a team of frontend engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical direction in developing our frontend architecture, focusing on performance, scalability, and security.
  • Product Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop a top-tier user interface, featuring advanced dashboard capabilities and complex data visualizations for both mobile and web platforms.
  • Integration: Seamlessly integrate front-end components with custom-built APIs.
  • Innovation: Stay ahead of the curve by researching and introducing cutting-edge front-end technologies and practices.
  • Strategic Alignment: Partner with the product team to align development efforts with the product vision and roadmap.
  • Hands-on Coding: Remain comfortable with hands-on coding to deliver critical features and set high standards for the team.

Skills Required:

  • 8+ years of experience in frontend development, with a strong portfolio showcasing your skills.
  • Proficiency in technologies such as React, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with significant experience in TypeScript.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing high-performing engineering teams.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the software development lifecycle, including testing, deployment, and operational best practices.
  • Experience in redesigning and rebuilding UIs for commercial products.
  • Knowledge of various frontend design patterns, including composition and compound components.
  • Proven track record of developing and managing high-scale commercial SaaS products.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and modern deployment tools like CI/CD, containers, and Terraform.
  • Commitment to secure coding practices and a thorough understanding of the entire development and deployment process.

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Education: BS, Masters, or PhD in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Independent learner with an open mind and a team-oriented mentality, with the ability and willingness to grow.
  • Familiar with security analysis and investigation.
  • Background in cybersecurity or SaaS, particularly in Access, Identity, and Governance, is highly desirable.

The base annual compensation range being offered for this role depending on individual candidate level and experience is $180,000 to $220,000, and an opportunity to participate in equity ownership.
