Traditional access management methods are human-intensive and often have significant unidentified gaps, making it challenging to manage access risks effectively. Job Overview:

As a Principal AI Architect reporting to the Chief Software Architect at Oleria, you will play a pivotal role in driving innovation and shaping the future of enterprise cybersecurity. Partnering closely with the Chief Software Architect, you will lead the research, prototyping, design, and implementation guidance of AI-based features for our rapidly growing cybersecurity startup. Oleria is on a mission to revolutionize access management, and your AI expertise will be crucial in achieving this ambitious goal.

Responsibilities:

• Research and Prototype: Conduct cutting-edge research in AI, focusing on areas such as access graph analysis, threat detection, workflow orchestration, and natural language processing. Translate findings into practical prototypes to guide product development.
• Design and Architecture: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design robust and scalable AI-based features for the Oleria platform. Define the architecture that aligns with our mission of reducing the opportunity and scope of data breaches in enterprise applications.
• Implementation: Provide technical leadership, guidance, and hands-on coding throughout the implementation phase, ensuring the seamless integration of AI features. Work closely with development teams to drive the adoption of AI best practices.
• Security: Spearhead the creation of AI-driven solutions for security, empowering enterprise CISOs and their teams with advanced tools for access management.
• Collaboration: Foster collaboration with stakeholders, including the Chief Software Architect, engineering teams, and product management, to align AI strategies with overall business objectives.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of professional experience and proven track record as an AI Architect with substantial expertise in researching, prototyping, and implementing AI solutions in cybersecurity or related fields. Experience with modern LLM platforms such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and others is preferred, and broad direct experience with AI/ML services in at least one public cloud platform - AWS, Azure, GCP - is strongly preferred.
• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a relevant field. PhD preferred.
• Proficiency in machine learning, natural language processing, and related technologies. Proficiency in at least two of the following languages: Python, Golang, and JavaScript is required. Experience with access graph analysis, risk monitoring, and threat remediation is a plus.
• Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to lead and mentor technical teams. Previous experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in a startup environment is a plus.
• Passion for staying abreast of the latest advancements in AI and cybersecurity. Proven ability to translate innovative ideas into practical, scalable solutions.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Bonus Qualifications:

• Strong understanding of industry best practices across entire lifecycle from idea to design to development, as well as test, deployment, operations, monitoring, and incident management
• Have shipped and operated high-scale commercial SaaS products, with all that entails
• Understanding of core networking, data transport and persistence systems and methods at scale, particularly noSQL
• Deep understanding of performance, privacy, scalability, HA/DR, instrumentation, logging & alerting, and other requirements of industry best practice enterprise scale products and services
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design principles
• Understanding of industry best practice security and privacy and data governance requirements and practices
• Familiar with secure development practices, from coding to artifact generation to deployment
• Ability to work and thrive in a fast-moving world with ambiguity and potential change as daily companions

The annual compensation range being offered for this role depending on individual candidate level and experience is $200,000 to $325,000 including base salary and equity.
